- Fiancé / Proposed Civil Partnership
- This visa category will give you the permission for leave to enter to UK as a fiancé or proposed civil partner of a present and settled person with a view to marriage or enter in to civil partnership and permanent settlement in the UK.
- Fiancé visa will give you provision to stay in the UK for up to 6 months to enable the marriage or civil partnership with a prohibition on employment.

- Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant is seeking leave to enter the United Kingdom for marriage or civil partnership to a person present and settled in the United Kingdom or who is on the same occasion being admitted for settlement; and
- The parties to the proposed marriage or civil partnership have met; and
- Each of the parties intends to live permanently with the other as his or her spouse or civil partner after the marriage or civil partnership ; and
- Adequate maintenance and accommodation without recourse to public funds will be available for the applicant until the date of the marriage or civil partnership ; and
- There will, after the marriage or civil partnership, be adequate accommodation for the parties and any dependants without recourse to public funds in accommodation which they own or occupy exclusively; and
- The parties will be able after the marriage or civil partnership to maintain themselves and any dependants adequately without recourse to public funds;

- You need to obtain “Entry Clearance for fiancé or proposed civil partner visa” before you enter to UK.

- Once you have married or entered to the civil partnership you may apply to stay in the UK on a UK Spouse Visa (give the link to the spouse visa page) which gives you provision to live and work in the UK up to 2 years.

- At the conclusion of this two year period you are eligible to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) as long as your marriage is subsisting.
